Are you in the market for a new notebook? Do you have way too much money to burn and not enough sense to realise it?

Well then we have great news for you today!

Local retailer Evetech has listed the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 notebook and it carries a frankly ridiculous retail price of R95 999. The good news is that Evetech has sliced off 6.25 percent of that price and you can get it for a bargain at R89 999.

Granted, this is a very powerful notebook just looking at the specs.

The CPU is an Intel Core i9 10980HK which can hit up to 5.3GHz. This iteration on sale from Evetech has 16GB of DDR4 memory, 2TB of NVMe storage, an Nvidia RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB and a 15.6inch UHD (3840 x 2160) display.

Of course this notebook also features the ROG ScreenPad Plus which acts as a secondary display.

Now, we understand that getting all of this tech into a package with dimensions 36.0 x 26.8 x 2.09 cm is a hard ask and we’re sure a lot of engineering went into this notebook to make it work.

But at R89 999, we have to wonder

At this price one could buy a car, put down a deposit on a house or buy a few lower spec gaming notebooks.

Of course, ASUS is not the only manufacturer with a notebook this expensive. Alienware and MSI both have notebooks that push the R90 000 mark.

Our shock and horror at these pricey notebooks aside we’d urge our readers to consider perhaps getting into the desktop PC market if they need a notebook this powerful.
