No more loadshedding after 10PM on Friday

As promised earlier in the day, Eskom has provided an update regarding loadshedding and there is good news to be found.

As of 17:00 on Friday afternoon, loadshedding was downgraded to Stage 1. Unfortunately, there will be loadshedding until 22:00 on Friday evening.

There is another slice of good news though it comes with a reminder to use electricity sparingly.

“While no loadshedding is anticipated during the weekend, Eskom wishes to remind the public to continue using electricity sparingly as the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable,” the utility said in a power alert embedded below.

Generation units at Duvha, Kriel and Tutuka power stations were successfully returned to service and have assisted in easing the capacity constraints Eskom must contend with.

While this is good news, loadshedding has been known to return at a moment’s notice much like it did on Thursday morning.

Thankfully South Africans only had to contend with two days of loadshedding. We’re taking small victories here okay.

You can find out how to locate your loadshedding schedule online here. Alternatively, we cannot recommend the EskomSePush app enough. The app is available for free for both Android and Apple iOS.
