Can’t afford new tech? Rent it from YBuy

While many gamers are hungry to try out the latest GPUs from Nvidia, if you’re a business owner that just so happens to need the latest tech to stay relevant the thought of buying new tech might hurt just a bit.

There is another option in YBuy, a local startup that rents smartphone, notebooks, tablets and even routers. In addition to these rentals, YBuy also sources repairs, replacements and insurance for the devices.

“Leasing is a very popular model overseas but South Africans have preferred to rather own their tech. There’s no need to own expensive hardware that depreciates the moment you take off the packaging and too many of us have old devices gathering dust in our drawers. That’s tangible value you could be putting into your business,” explains chief executive officer at YBuy, Grant Defries.

YBuy was started just before lockdown so it is still very much in startup territory. That having been said, the firm is owned by the Blue Label Telecoms Group.

The startup also offers data and SIM packages which are discounted thanks to its relationship with Blue Label Telecoms.

Should you need even further assurance that you’re dealing with a legitimate firm, AURA, the firm we recently profiled here on Hypertext, is a YBuy customer.

“Our rental agreement with YBuy allowed us to equip our entire network of security response agents with robust devices that ensure constant connectivity, which is essential in our field. The benefits of not having to worry about repairs, insurance or downtime make an already financially attractive model that much more valuable to our business,” says operations manager at AURA, Yaron Herr.

YBuy also offers a data management service so that business owners aren’t meant with an alarmingly large bill at the end of the month. This service is ISP agnostic but we recommend chatting to YBuy about your specific needs.

To that end, you can visit the YBuy website for more information.
