A wearable classic Doom helmet costs just $140

The signature grey helmet from classic Doom has been turned into a rather impressive, wearable collectible that will be on sale soon for $139.99 (~R2 365).

Measuring in at 33.02 X 35.56 X 28.96 centimetres this helmet is being sold by Limited Run Games. f the name of this company didn’t give it away Limited Run Games creates special novelty and collector items around games including physical versions of previously digital games.

Made out of PVC and ABS the helmet also has detailed painting to mimic the wear seen in various pieces of Doom material over the years, and there’s a strap inside to better fit your head.

There’s no physical conventions going on right now so this helmet can’t really complete any cosplays at the moment. We’d be perfectly comfortable to laze around the house in it, though.

As you can see by one of the images above you’re not just buying the helmet, as it comes in a bundle with two other items.

There’s a poster of the famous Doom cover art and an enamel pin of a 3.5 Doom floppy disk. While these are nice little inclusions the helmet is the real meat and potatoes here.

Those with the money to afford this will need to move fast as only 4 000 will be available. To buy one head to the store page on 25th September at 10AM Eastern Time.

This is being billed as a worldwide event and Limited Run Games does ship internationally. More details of this can be found here but, as always, shipping internationally will end up being very expensive. Anyone seriously considering this should set aside around double the USD price after conversions just to be safe.

The last time we saw an official, wearable helmet like this it was for Doom Eternal. The collectors edition of the game featured a similar helmet, albeit for the updated Praetor Suit. While we love the modern interpretation of Doomguy this classic version has us reaching for the credit card in a big way.
