Cash Crusaders launches Click & Collect in first move to take its business online

During the lockdown, we’ve read and written numerous reports on the importance of ecommerce in the COVID-19 era, with retailers in particular benefitting from have an existing ecommerce strategy in place. While some have been better placed than others in this regard, others are cottoning on, which brings us to a recent announcement from Cash Crusaders.

The retailer, which specialises in the selling and buying of secondhand goods, has now launched a Click & Collect solution. As the name implies, the new service would allow consumers to browse the Cash Crusaders site for items, purchase them via their payment platform of choice, and then collect it from the nearest or most convenient store.

Further explaining the new service, the retailer says that customers who shop online will be prompted at checkout to select where they’d prefer to collect their goods from, and will have immediate access to that store’s WhatsApp number to be able to converse with the Online Personal Shopper located in that store.

The Click & Collect service is also part of a larger ecommerce plan for the retailer, as it looks to embrace a fully fledged move to online.

“Although we’ve been planning the launch of e-commerce for our business for a while, COVID-19 rapidly increased the rate in which we rolled the service out,” says Sean Stegmann, CEO of Cash Crusaders Franchising.

“As discussed in our recent 702’s Franchising for Future Success webinar, with shopper behaviours changing somewhat, the timing was perfect for us to aggressively embrace our digitisation strategy. We started with our WhatsApp Video service back in June and have gone live with our Click & Collect service,” he adds.

It remains to be seen what other ecommerce-based initiatives are in the works, but it is clear that the push online extends far beyond remaining relevant in the lockdown era.

“A real highlight of our e-commerce evolution is that customers are also now able to renew their secure loans online too. We have integrated our entire bespoke POS (point of sale) system to be able to fulfil our customer’s e-commerce requirements at the click of a button,” concludes Stegmann.
