The speaker lineup for SingularityU Summit South Africa Online now 60-plus strong

If you are marking virtual events in your calendar between now and the end of the year, it may be worthwhile looking at the SingularityU Summit South Africa on 14th and 15th October, which is heading online this year as a result of the pandemic and lockdown.

The event will also be unique in terms of how it will use VR and virtual spaces to facilitate many of the networking elements of the event. As for the speaker lineup, organisers confirmed that it has just grown, with 15 additional names added to the list.

The result is that SingularityU online Summit will now feature 60-plus speakers at the time of writing.

“In line with the summits theme #FutureProofAfrica, the summit will focus on teaching delegates about exponential technologies and their potential to solve the global grand challenges. It will also host numerous industry leaders that will share insights on leadership and entrepreneurship,” a press release sent to Hypertext explains.

“These include legendary South African business innovator Michael Jordaan, disrupting the banking industry with Bank Zero, and Taddy Blecher, known for his pioneering work in education,” it adds.

Along with the new speakers, there are also four new interactive workshops being added to the mix, which are:

  • Rewire your mind for high performance – by GIlan Gork
  • Building robots for education – by Rajesh Ramakrishnan
  • Artificial Intelligence Bias – by Alix Rubsaam
  • The SME Mindset – by Kyle Hermans

The organisers are also using the new online format to change up things for the Summit.

“Meeting new people has been missing and this year’s summit aims to solve that with a huge portion of networking to allow for new connections. This year’s approach with shorter talks has made way for a greater variety of topics to be addressed in a compact and impactful way,” says Shayne Mann, Co-CEO of SingularityU South Africa.

If you are interested in securing a ticket, there is a little under one week until the Early Adopter tier become unavailable.

Ticket prices at the time of writing are as follows:
