Xbox Game Pass November titles hurt Cyberpunk 2077 rumour

In late 2019 there was quite the stir when the South African arm of Xbox seemingly revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be available on Xbox Game Pass. That leak was summarily denied and swept under the rug, and for November 2020, it seems that it was a legitimate mistake.

This is because Microsoft have revealed what games are coming to Xbox Game Pass for late October and early November. As most already know Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing, after many delays, on 20th November 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not included on this list, which is:

  • Carto (Console & PC) – 27th October
  • Day of the Tentacle Remastered (Console & PC) – 29th October
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s (Android, Console & PC) – 29th October
  • Full Throttle Remastered (Console & PC) – 29th October
  • Grim Fandango Remastered (Console & PC) – 29th October
  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (Android)  – 29th October
  • ScourgeBringer (Android) – 29th October
  • Unruly Heroes (Android, Console & PC) – 29th October
  • Celeste (Android, Console & PC) – 5th November
  • Comanche (PC) – 5th November
  • Deep Rock Galactic (Android, Console & PC) – 5th November
  • Eastshade (Android, Console & PC) – 5th November
  • Knights and Bikes (Console & PC) – 5th November
  • Ark: Survival Evolved: Explorer’s Edition (Android, Console & PC) – 17th November

Before we lose all hope there is some important things to note here. Firstly is that the latest date on this list is 17th November, which is still before the public release of Cyberpunk 2077. As you can see for October Microsoft announces new games for Xbox Game Pass in the month that they will release.

With Cyberpunk 2077 being arguable the most sought after game of the year, it would make sense to announce it closer to the public release. On top of that it leaves more time for regular copies of the game to be bought.

That being said we still have serious doubt that CD Projekt’s baby will be on Xbox Game Pass for no additional purchase. It really doesn’t need the extra exposure the service brings and many people are lining up to pay full price for it, if they haven’t already through pre-order.

We can still dream, however, but this announcement is another nail in the coffin of this pipedream.

As for the games that are arriving, we have our eyes on the beloved platformer Celeste and co-op space dwarves mining simulator Deep Rock Galactic.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Five Nights at Freddy’s included here give people late to the party the opportunity to try these cult games without paying anything more on top of their subscription.
