The Huawei P Smart 2021 – A level above other mid-range phones

This month Huawei is getting ready to launch one of its most important mobile devices of the year – the P Smart 2021 – which is set to disrupt the local mid-range smartphone space thanks to its impressive mix of beautiful design, feature-rich operating system and powerful specifications.

Having led the way among smartphone makers when it comes to great value for money mid-range devices in recent years, when the P Smart 2021 launches on 7th November, it will set a new standard in terms of what consumers can expect from such an affordably priced device.

While we wait for the launch date to arrive, Huawei has highlighted some of the most noteworthy elements to this new device, both externally and internally.

Focusing on the outside first, as you can see from the header image above, the P Smart 2021 is not short on style. As the year listed in the name suggests, this will be setting the standard as far as Huawei’s mid-range devices are concerned, evidenced by the punch hole selfie camera instead of a drop-shaped screen notch.

Added to this is a svelte, but premium feeling frame and body, which draws inspiration from the year’s earlier released P40 series. Huawei is also bringing a kaleidoscope of colour options to the fore, so local consumers can pick which flavour of P Smart 2021 speaks to them.

As for the screen, a sumptuous 6.67″ FullView display is on offer, which not only affords plenty of screen real estate, but also places an emphasis on image quality thanks to the 2400×1080 FullHD+ resolution and 394 pixels per inch (PPI) density on offer.

The display is not the only element to have received attention from Huawei, with the back cover playing host to a Quad AI camera housing.

This premium setup features a large 48MP lens to take care of the primary picture taking, the added benefit of which is pixel-rich images that can be edited and cropped without losing any of the nuance and detail.

Supporting the primary lens is an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera, along with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth-sensing option to round out the quartet. The result is a smartphone capable of snapping great pictures in a variety of environments, ensuring that those moments are captured exactly how you want them too.

Looking internally now and the P Smart 2021 is no less impressive. Here Huawei has utilised a Kirin 710A chipset as its go-to processor, which is paired with a generous 4GB of RAM to ensure that multitasking and switching between apps is a breeze. There is also 64GB worth of storage onboard, along with a microSD slot, as well as Huawei’s Cloud services to store data and content digitally.

To ensure that you can enjoy the large and crisp display, powerful processor and array of cameras onboard, Huawei has also fitted the P Smart 2021 with a massive 5 000mAh battery, which is a bigger capacity than you find on most flagship phones these days.

Lasting a full day and then some, the battery also supports 22.5W Huawei Supercharge, to ensure that when you’re in a bind, only a few mins of charge can result in hours of battery life on the P Smart 2021.

With more about this new device on the horizon, watch this space as Huawei gets ready to launch the impressively specced P Smart 2021 in South Africa.
