How Petal Search puts the power of mobile at your fingertips

This month Huawei has rolled out a new solution to make the mobile experience on new devices wholly different to what it was previously. That solution is called Petal Search, and unlike other in-UI search tools, it adds an increased level of intelligence to help improve the overall experience on Huawei devices.

Petal Search has already rolled out 170 different countries across the globe, with support for 50 languages, and South Africa is the latest to join that ever-growing list.

The purpose of Petal Search is to make finding the right solution, service or information as easy as possible. Whether it be a suitable application for handling a specific task, or finding out the latest news happening worldwide, Petal Search can do it.

Do it all

This native search engine can also be used for other useful tasks, such as searching for images and videos, both on device and online. There is the ability to search for flights too, once it becomes more easy to do so, of course.

For South Africans, Petal Search will hold added value as well, as you’ll be able to look for local restaurants and businesses that are currently operating.

With Petal Search, information is more readily available and won’t necessitate going to a browser to find, as Huawei has built its functionality into a number of different locations on its operating system.

You can of course go to the Huawei Browser to access the tool, but Huawei’s native user interface EMUI 11 also features it as a standalone dedicated app, a widget you can place on your home screen, or by swiping to the leftmost screen within the UI itself.

As such, Huawei has placed the power of how best to interact with Petal Search into the hands of its users.

Safety first

Along with that power comes greater security, which Huawei has built into the core of this search engine experience. Here, you can browse online in incognito mode, meaning your personal data will not be tracked, your experience will remain anonymous, and there is no need to worry about cookies, all while being fully GDPR compliant.

Added to this is the ability for parents to add a layer of safety to their children’s Huawei device, which can add restrictions that will filter any inappropriate content.

You can also use Petal Search safe in the knowledge that all data that is stored, with your permission and full control, is done so at a regional level, in order to provide a more secure experience.

With Petal Search being one of many new ways that Huawei is empowering its users, along with improving EMUI 11 and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), there is still more on the horizon to further enhance your mobile experience.
