OneDayOnly offering increasing discounts in lead up to Black Friday

Black Friday kicks off at the end of this week, but many South African retailers are turning the next five days into an extra-long sale period. One such retailer is OneDayOnly, which as the name suggests, specialises in timed offers to its customers on selected products.

For this week-long Black Friday, OneDayOnly is ramping up its discounts as the week progresses, with up to 100 percent discounts applicable for some products.

“We will be running special deals on selected products this whole week in the run-up to Black Friday, with discounts increasing in value each day – culminating in our unique 100% off deals on Black Friday itself,” says OneDayOnly director, Laurian Venter.

While the precise devices or products that will be getting the aforementioned 100 percent discounts have not been disclosed, Venter says that 7 008 units will be given away during Black Friday, amounting to an estimated R3.7 million.

She adds that the term “given away” is not simply marketing spin either.

“Yes, GIVE away. Mahala. If you didn’t jump on this last year – make sure you take advantage this year because our 100% off deals sold out in literal seconds – regardless of how many units were behind them,” she enthuses.

The director adds that each of the 100 percent off deals will be dropped at random times throughout the day on Black Friday, and not all at once. As such, she advises keeping an eye on the OneDayOnly site at the week’s end.

Of the 100 percent off products, options from Samsung, Karcher, DJI, Helly Hansen, Freddy Jeans, Romoss, Ginologist, Smeg, Ugg, Weber, Sistema, Revlon and others are expected.

With 2020 being a touch year all-around for consumers, it should be interesting to see what the appetite is for sales like the one planned by OneDayOnly.
