Earlier this month Epic Games began asking Fortnite players if they’d like a paid subscription service for their free game. Now in late November the company has revealed Fortnite Crew.
This service is a monthly subscription which provides the following:
“Battle Pass Included for the full Season – As a member of the Fortnite Crew, you’ll always have access to the current season’s Battle Pass!
1,000 V-Bucks Each Month – Fortnite Crew members will receive 1,000 V-Bucks every month. Spend it on your favourite Item Shop content!
Get A New Monthly Crew Pack! – Get an exclusive Fortnite Crew Pack, an always-new Outfit Bundle that only Fortnite Crew members can get.”
For the above subscribers will be paying £9.99 / $11.99 each month. Despite the fact that the Epic Games Store now supports the South African Rand officially, no local pricing is available just yet. UK pricing is usually close to what we pay locally and, at the time of writing, £9.99 converts to around R203.25.
Even if it’s an even R200 that’s still rather pricey, though we’ll have to wait and see if that comes down when localised. The subscription launches on 2nd December, so we’ll likely see the real South African price when Crew shows up in the in-game store.
The first of the Crew Pack content you can see used in the official art to advertise the subscription is called Galaxia.
“When Fortnite Crew launches on December 2, subscribed members of the Crew will be the first to get this all-new exclusive Galaxia Outfit and Style plus the Cosmic Llamacorn Pickaxe and Fractured World Back Bling. A Fortnite Crew subscription can be purchased in Fortnite from the Item Shop or Battle Pass purchase screen, and players can cancel anytime,” a press release sent to us reads.
