A closer look at the ASUS ZenBook Flip UX363

The hardware release schedule is chock full of new tech that we’ve been waiting to sink our teeth into and one of the notebooks many of us at Hypertext have our eye on is the ASUS ZenBook Flip UX363.

This convertible notebook is not only thin and light, it’s packing an array of ports, a gorgeous display and the latest Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPU which also features Intel Xe graphics.

The Intel Core i7-1165G7 here runs at a base clock speed of 2.8GHz though when the CPU needs to boost it hits 4.9GHz. Paired with the CPU is 16GB of LPDDR4X running at a staggering 4267MHz.

The Intel Iris Xe Graphics have 8GB of GPU memory to make use of with a max GPU speed of 1.3GHz.

Whether you’re a student looking to do a bit of gaming in esports titles after class or a professional that needs some raw power to get your work done, the ZenBook Flip has the performance chops to help you out.

But performance is just one part of the equation, what is the ZenBook like to use?

The 13.3 inch touch display can be rotated 360 degrees which means that you can use the ZenBook in a variety of ways. You can prop the notebook up in tent mode to watch a movie, flip the display the full 360 degrees and use it as a sketchpad or lay it out flat if that’s what you need.

Added to that, a magnet hidden underneath the display allows you to attach your ASUS Stylus to your notebook for easy access during the day. Just be sure to remove it when you close your notebook.

Not that closing this notebook is easy. The gorgeous FullHD display covers 100 percent of the sRGB colour gamut and supports 4 096 points of pressure for even better creation with the stylus.

What makes the ZenBook Flip interesting for us is its plethora of what have seemingly become “legacy” ports. You’ll find a USB Type A and HDMI ports as well as two Thunderbolt USB Type C ports. One of those ports is used for charging but it won’t be used for too long.

The 67watt hour battery in the Zenbook Flip supports fast-charging and after just 49 minutes you can go from empty to 60 percent charged. What makes things even more convent is that you can use any standard USB-Type C charge to juice up the Zenbook.

Other notable features include support for WiFi 6 and linking with the MyASUS app. With this app you can easily optimise your notebook’s performance using your Android or Apple smartphone.

Not only is the Zenbook Flip 13 a powerhouse, its thin and sleek exterior will make for an elegant addition to the office.
