Spider-Man: Miles Morales launch trailer is heavy on the spoilers

If it wasn’t clear by the headline this story contains spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

We’re fast approaching the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales on 12th November, and with most new games a launch trailer has been released to mark the occasion.

Unfortunately for those who prefer to go into games completely blind this newest video has a lot of spoilers. Turn back now, and definitely don’t watch the trailer, if you’d like to prevent that.

Those avoiding spoilers gone? Okay so the biggest reveal here is likely the appearance of the Prowler AKA Aaron Davis, Miles Morales’ uncle.

This isn’t anything new for those familiar with the character, those who have watched Into Into the Spider-Verse, or even those whose who Googled what Donald Glover was doing in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

That being said the details are important here and Prowler being aware that Morales is Spider-Man is a key detail. We also get to see flashes of the Prowler suit in this trailer.

Speaking of suits the Rhino features rather heavily here. It looks like this boss character will also fight Miles like he did Peter, but gets an upgrade at some point in the game. The red accents on this new armour seem to indicate he’s working with big bad group Roxxon.

One mystery not revealed in this trailer is where Peter Parker is during the events of this game. We see him at various points in the trailer – including a “Spider-Man oath” in the header image above – but still no concrete reason why he seems to be absent here. We’re still banking on some interdimensional portal sucking him into the setup for a Spider-Verse game(s) but that’s a baseless assumption on our part. It will probably be something boring like an injury.

As mentioned at the top of the story Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches on 12th November. While billed as big launch title for the new PlayStation 5, it is also being released on the same day for the previous generation PlayStation 4.
