Microsoft has announced something rather special for the upcoming movie Space Jam: A New Legacy, as you can have a say in the direction of a tie-in videogame and win prizes on top of that.
The premise of this contest is simple: go to the official site, choose from one screenshot relating to the genre of a game you have in mind, write up a 500 word summary of your imaginary game, and submit with your contact details.
This is intended for all ages to take part with kids aged 14 an up allowed to participate, as long as a parent or legal guardian is joining in for the under 18s.
The prizes for two winners are:
- Your name in the game
- Signed and authenticated memorabilia from LeBron James
- Personalised Xbox Series X gaming pack
- Nike Space Jam: A New Legacy VIP pack
- Private friends and family screening of the film
- Virtual Microsoft coding workshop for you local community.
The images and associated genre of games are available to check out below. We can pick up influence from all manner of games such as Punch-Out!!, Mega Man Battle Network, Rampage and more. There’s definitely a skew towards classic games here.
The focus on classic games is no mistake. This mystery tie-in game is billed as an “Arcade-Style Xbox Game” that will be released for no additional purchase on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The Space Jam game will release a few months before the film, which is scheduled for 16th July 2021 both in theatres and streaming through HBO Max in the US.
This contest begins today, 14th December, and runs until 30th December, so there’s not too much time to waste if you’re keen.
