On Tuesday Spotify revealed the most played tracks and artists throughout 2020 and today it’s your turn to feel special.
Personalised Spotify Wrapped 2020 playlists are now available, as is your data for the year, though things are a bit different. These playlists include your top 100 most played tracks and the Missed Hits playlist which contains tracks you may have overlooked.
This year, rather than heading to a website you’ll need to have the Spotify iOS or Android app to explore your year in music. This is because Spotify is presenting your year in music, as stories.
Yes, Spotify has Stories which it appears to have introduced, yesterday.
The data here is par for the course, revealing what song you listened to the most, which artists got you through 2020 and even which podcasts you enjoyed. This can be quite comical if, like us, you rarely use Spotify to listen to podcasts and are told that you’re a great listener, having under an hour of listening time for podcasts.
Premium users have also been awarded badges, but these seem to be little more than dressing as they don’t appear on your Spotify profile. The badges include:
- Tastemaker – Awarded if a playlist you created gained “significant new followers”
- Pioneer – Awarded if you listened to a track before it hit 50 000 streams
- Collector – Awarded based on the number of songs you added to playlists this year
For those who aren’t Spotify users you can browse the top hits of the year via the web over at this link.
