The Scott Pilgrim game arrives 14th January on all platforms

The infamous Scott Pilgrim returns in 2021 when it releases again come 14th January.

Released in PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010 Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game was delisted from platforms in 2014 due to licencing issues.

It’s remained unobtainable for years but thankfully publisher Ubisoft will be bringing it back next year with an absurdly long title: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition.

As a complete edition this version of the game will come with the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells Add-On Packs DLCs.

“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition also includes drop-in, drop-out local or online multiplayer, enabling up to four players to wallop enemies as a team and revive each other when the action gets too frantic. They can also join forces in the co-op Boss Rush and Survival Horror modes, or compete in PvP dodgeball matches, subspace minigames, and battle-royale throwdowns,” reads an announcement from Ubisoft.

The console exclusivity of the past is also out the window here. When 14th January rolls around you can pick up the game on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There won’t be separate versions for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, but the game will be playable on those platforms through backwards compatibility.

You’ll also be able to get into the game without the need for an additional purchase if you’re subscribed to Ubisoft+ on PC.

After years of hearing about this game’s enjoyable 2D beat ’em up gameplay, music and art – but with no way to legally play it – we’re excited to give it a go once the year rolls over. All we can hope for after launch is that the licencing has been sorted and the game isn’t killed a second time four years after this new launch.
