2021 BCX Digital Innovation Awards looking for SMEs and Corporate Enterprises

Entries for the 2021 BCX Digital Innovation Awards are now open. The end-to-end solutions provider is calling on all businesses to enter, with BCX now running it for its third year.

The organisation will be separating this year’s awards into two categories of business – SMEs and Corporate Enterprises – with those that have brought innovative solutions to market urged to enter.

Unpacking the requirements for the two categories, BCX has explained that:

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Digital Innovation Award – this category is for South African SMEs who have been in operation for more than 1 year and who are currently employing more than 5 people and earning less than R50 million in revenue. Part of the prize for the winner of this category is a potential partnership agreement with BCX.

Corporate Enterprise Digital Innovation Award – this category is for large South African enterprises with an existing employee base of 200 or more. Part of the prize for the winner of this category is the BCX Innovation programme.

“BCX is proud to present the third BCX Digital Innovation Awards to recognise and reward digital Innovation excellence in South African corporates and SMEs. These are innovations that have improved an existing process of a product, or developed an entirely new one, achieving incredible results and making a difference in South Africa,” highlights Jonas Bogoshi, CEO of BCX.

With the past year proving particular testing for local businesses as a result of the pandemic, entrants’ innovations should feature some element of benefit to the country, particularly in terms of digital transforming which has been a key focus for many amid the struggles presented by COVID-19.

“For us at BCX, innovation is using our knowledge and skills to turn ideas into solutions that will enhance value for our customers, their customers and the digital transformation of South Africa as a whole,” says Bogoshi.

“Post-pandemic, the companies that embrace innovation will be best placed to unlock post-crisis growth. For many industries, the future is now. These short-term solutions to deal with the crisis will become the norm for many as businesses, particularly the more vulnerable SMEs, look to crisis-proof their operations and grow,” he concludes.
