ASUS ZenBook Flip 15 – The elegant workhorse

Back in 2007 when laptops were still chunky behemoths that required power bricks as big as the notebook itself, ASUS launched its EEE PC. The E’s here represent “Easy to learn, Easy to Work, Easy to Play”.

While the EEE PC is no more, ASUS still makes notebooks that are easy to learn, easy to work and easy to play with, but these days those notebooks have a lot more power than the Atom and Celeron powered mini-PCs over a decade ago.

The ASUS ZenBook Flip 15 is one of those notebooks.

The ZenBook Flip 15 is sleek and weighs just under 2kg but it’s also not a delicate flower. ASUS has put the notebook through the brutal test regime needed to acquire MIL-STD 810H certification. This includes shock tests, vibration tests, tests in extreme temperatures and tests at high altitudes.

As most of us aren’t pushing our notebooks to breaking point, it’s good to know that the ZenBook Flip 15 isn’t just designed to survive a tumble, it houses sizeable compute power as well.

Within the Flip 15’s slick exterior you will find Intel’s 11th Gen processors as well NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics. This means that working on massive spreadsheets and even 4K video can easily be handled by the Flip 15 especially with up to 16GB of DDR memory and 1TB of NVMe PCIe 3.0 storage.

The 15.6inch IPS display is flanked by impossibly thin 4.5mm bezels giving the ZenBook 15 an impressive 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. This FullHD (1920 x 1080) display is also Pantone Validated and covers 100 percent of the sRGB colour gamut. The ZenBook 15 also carries flicker free operation, low blue light emissions and reduced reflection certifications from TÜV Rheinland.

That display can also be rotated 360 degrees thanks to the precision engineered ErgoLift hinge so whether you’re presenting to the team when the lights go out or simply kicking back watching a movie, the ZenBook 15 moves the way you need it to.

You will find ample connectivity options. Whether you need USB ports, a headphone jack or an SD card reader, the ZenBook 15 supports the latest and legacy connectivity options. This includes the likes of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

With the world as connected as it is, ASUS has also baked its MyASUS app into the ZenBook 15. With this software you can optimise your notebook’s performance, contact after sales support and even multi-task using your iOS or Android smartphone.

The ZenBook 15 is packed with more features and functionality than we could have imagined having access to a decade ago. Isn’t it nice then that you can pick up this notebook right now right here.
