At the weekend a flurry of announcements were made as E3 2021 kicked off.
While there has been some issues with regards to co-streaming the event, we were squarely focused on the game announcements and we have been treated.
Square Enix, Ubisoft, Bethesda and Xbox hosted showcases where future titles as well as updates to existing games were shown off.
While there are still a few showcases left to see (Capcom, Take Two Interactive, Nintendo and Bandai are all set to present this week) there are so many games we wanted to highlight from the weekend that we thought we’d collate those here.
Ubisoft Forward
Let’s start then with what we think has been the most boring Ubisoft showcase in the last few years. Much of the presentation focused on Rainbow Six: Extraction which looks like PvE Rainbow Six: Siege.
There were some notable games though such as Become the Villain, post launch content for Far Cry 6 that puts you in the shoes of Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min and Joseph Seed.
Oh, and we got a look at Ubisoft’s Avatar game.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Rainbow Six Extraction
Rocksmith+
Xbox + Bethesda Showcase
With Xbox being the new home of Bethesda we were expecting to see some big-names from the pair at their E3 2021 showcase and Xbox delivered.
We had our first look at Starfield, another look at Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl and many, many more titles.
Throughout the presentation however it was clear that Microsoft and Xbox really want you to subscribe to Game Pass as many of the new titles will be available to play through Game Pass on launch day.
There is a lot to get through here so let’s get to it.
Starfield
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl
Twelve Minutes
Age of Empires IV
Atomic Heart
The Outer Worlds 2
This is the best trailer from the weekend and we will not be taking arguments to the contrary.
Forza Horizon 5
Somerville
Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life
Square Enix
While we weren’t expecting much from Square Enix this year what with Avengers still receiving updates and Hitman 3 having launched just the other day, the publisher did impress us.
Not only did the rumours of a Guardians of the Galaxy game turn out to be true, there were a few Final Fantasy announcements that might interest you.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin
Marvel’s Avengers Expansion: Black Panther – War for Wakanda
Babylon’s Fall
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster
