Deathloop highlights pre-order & Deluxe Edition content

After several delays it seems like everything is on track for the launch of Deathloop on 14th September this year and, to get people to pull out the credit card now, we’ve been shown the pre-orders bonuses.

There’s been some mention of these in the past but this newest trailer shows them off with the focus here being cosmetic DLC.

This seems a bit strange as Deathloop is a first person shooter and decking your character out in the fancy James Bond-esque black suit is a bit of a pointless endeavour when you can’t actually see your player character.

While you can see the gun skins on offer we suppose the player skins are meant to be enjoyed in the unique multiplayer where people can take up the roll of assassin Julianna to hamper the campaign progress of those trying to get by as main character Colt.

Like many games Deathloop will have multiple versions available with the standard and Deluxe Editions vying for your money. The bonuses for these, and the pre-orders, are as follows:

Pre-order bonus (Both Editions)

• Unique Weapon: Royal Protector Machete (PS5 Exclusive)
• Unique Character Skin: “Storm Rider” Colt
• One Trinket (equippable buff)

Deluxe Edition content

• Unique Weapon: Transtar Trencher (PS5 Exclusive)
• Unique Weapon: Eat The Rich Tribunal
• Unique Weapon: .44 Karat Fourpounder
• Character Skin: “Party Crasher” Colt
• Character Skin: “Sharp Shooter” Julianna
• Original Game Soundtrack Selections
• Two Trinkets (equippable buffs)

Both the trailer and the provided list of contents above are really bushing the PlayStation 5 console exclusivity. A real oddity as the game will also launch on PC and, on top of that, Microsoft now owns this game and the companies involved in making.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see Deathloop eventually make its way to Xbox consoles some time in the future but for now it looks like that still isn’t happening at launch.

As always we recommend against pre-ordering, not just because the bonuses here are kind of weak. It’s better to wait for reviews and coverage of the game to see if it’s worth your money first.
