HP’s lightest consumer notebook to date, the Pavilion Aero 13, lands in SA next month

Late last month HP unveiled its lightest consumer notebook to date – the Pavilion Aero 13. Now the new device has been slated to arrive locally, with HP Africa revealing the necessary details for this latest hardware.

The Pavilion Aero 13 is expected in August, with recommended pricing starting at R14 999. So what do you get for R15k?

First the weight, which is under 1kg depending on which specification you go for on this all magnesium aluminium chassis sporting notebook. It also features a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, with a 13.3″ display and up to 2.5k resolution on offer, which means HP is aiming at those consumers concerned with entertainment and being able to work on their notebook.

Another key feature is battery life, which is listed at up to 10.5 hours from a fully charged battery. HP is also talking up the fact that notebooks are not as deskbound as we may think, with its research pointing to these devices being 45 percent of the time away from the home.

Like many of the devices that have been unveiled in recent weeks, the Pavilion Aero 13 will be upgradable to Windows 11 later this year HP confirms. As for what will be powering that experience internally, up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U Mobile Processor with AMD Radeon Graphics can be specced, along with support for the likes of WiFi 6.

When it arrives next month, the HP Pavilion Aero 13 will be available in four different colour options (seen in header) – Pale Rose Gold, Warm Gold, Ceramic White and Natural Silver.
