Microsoft Flight Simulator arrives on console next week

After launching on PC in August 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator takes to the skies on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S later this week, as announced by Microsoft along with several other games for Xbox Game Pass across console, PC, mobile and the Cloud Gaming beta.

Before we get to the other games announced for Game Pass Microsoft Flight Simulator is arguably the biggest hitter and has been very well received since launching. It was also made available on Steam where we can see that, at the time of writing, it has 25 492 reviews with 76 percent of them being positive. This leaves the game with a “Mostly Positive” rating on Valve’s store.

“From Xbox Game Studios, available with Xbox Game Pass on day one of its release for Xbox Series X|S! From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly-detailed and accurate aircraft in the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S. Test your piloting skills against the challenges of real-time atmospheric simulation and live weather in a dynamic and living world. The sky is calling!” the announcement reads.

Those on the Xbox Series X and S get access to Microsoft Flight Simulator on 27th July. While it’s offered through Xbox Game Pass on the launch day it can also be outright purchased like a regular game for those who prefer.

The other game that jumps out at us from this reveal is Atomicrops, a very unique indie title that combines a top down roguelike shooter with farming and management elements. It launched in September last year and is relatively to cheap to buy on its own, but we’re sure coming to Game Pass for no extra money will mean more people giving it a go.

The Ascent, which isn’t even out yet, will be available on Game Pass when it launches on 29th July. Despite also being an indie game The Ascent impresses with its polished visuals and what looks to be visceral isometric shooting.

There’s a cyberpunk-shaped hole in our heart after the disappointment of Cyberpunk 2077, so hopefully this can fill it.
