Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion is endgame content for Avengers

On 27th July Marvel’s Avengers gets its next content update in the form of Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion, a new test of strength of players at the highest level of the game to earn the best loot.

In this context we refer to “endgame” in the videogame sense – the end of the line for content that players can tackle when they’ve done everything else, and not “Avengers: Endgame”. Just thought we’d point that out before anyone got disappointed.

“Omega-Level Threat missions require full four-player strike teams at Power Level 145+ (the game’s maximum Power Level of 150 is recommended) and though players can run them as many times as they’d like, Omega-Level Threats award the highest-end gear for success once per week per account. We’re currently exploring allowing the weekly rewards to be given out once per week per character in the near future,” the announcement reads.

The “Family Reunion” part of the expansion name refers to the fact that this will bring a new spin to the Family Reunion content from the Taking Aim Operation. The changes to it to ramp up the difficulty include buffs to enemies and a boss fight against the Super-Adaptoid (pictured above) which seems to be the poster child for this experiance.

The full loot available can be found and described here for those who don’t mind that being spoiled.

For those who want that gear or similar, or have found themselves burnt out on this game, there will be more Omega-Level Threat additions in the future with the announcement making special mention of a similar experience for the upcoming “War for Wakanda” Black Panther expansion. Omega-Level Threats will also be released after War for Wakanda to so it seems that developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix are dedicated to this more difficult mission type.

Also on 27th July the game will get an update to Mega Hives which will allow for multiplayer, and Strike Teams (squads) will now permanently allow any mix of heroes. In the past each player had to pick a unique hero with no duplicates allowed with this restriction only removed for certain limited-time events. From next week onwards any combination will be good to go.
