The final Evangelion rebuild movie will launch on Amazon Prime Video

Well it’s finally here folks. The conclusion to the Rebuild of Evangelion movies will finally be available outside of Japan on Amazon Prime Video come 13th August 2021.

The obnoxiously named Evangelion:3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time will premiere on Amazon in more than 240 countries that aren’t Japan.

Unfortunately the announcement of this doesn’t have a list of those 240 countries and territories so we’re not 100 percent sure if South Africa is included. As our country has access to Amazon Prime Video we’re just going to assume we’re included here.

“The fourth and final instalment of the Rebuild of Evangelion. Misato and her anti-Nerv group Wille arrive in Paris, a city now red from core-ization. Crew from the flagship Wunder land on a containment tower. They only have 720 seconds to restore the city. When a horde of Nerv Evas appear, Mari’s improved Eva Unit 8 must intercept. Meanwhile, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei (provisional name) wander around Japan,” reads the official description for the movie.

It’s been a hilariously long time since the last movie in this franchise was released with 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo having originally come out in 2012. Yes it’s been almost a decade waiting for this ending.

For those who have completely forgotten the previous three movies and want to re-watch them before the release of 3.0+1.01, well you’re in luck as Amazon Prime Video will have them up too.

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.At the time of writing none of them appear on Amazon prime Video in South Africa, so we have to assume their release will be closer to 13th August if not on the day itself.

As a reminder the original series and movies are available on Netflix. If you’re completely new to Evangelion that is the best place to start. Once you’ve finished up with that you can watch the rebuild movies.

Circling back to 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time and it will be dubbed in 10 languages with subtitles in 28 languages.

Again, annoyingly, the exact languages are not listed. For the dubbing six languages are mentioned by name, however: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
