After a rocky launch Deathloop is the top seller on Steam

When Deathloop launched last week it had a rocky start on PC with performance issues leading to review bombing as players thought it was caused by Denuvo DRM. Despite this the game has managed to come out as the top seller on Steam.

This is according to unofficial stats website Steam Database (SteamDB) which releases weekly updates on what brought in the most revenue.

For last week, the 37th week of 2021, Deathloop not only came in first, but also third.

This can happen as Steam lists different versions of games as separate titles. Deathloop has a regular and Deluxe edition which is why it managed to take two spots here.

  1. Deathloop
  2. Tales of Arise
  3. Deathloop
  4. Naraka: Bladepoint
  5. Red Dead Redemption 2
  6. NBA 2K22
  7. Timberborn
  8. Valve Index VR Kit Package
  9. New World
  10. Valheim

Tales of Arise managed to take up three spots in the last top ten list but now claims just one in second place here. This latest game is the fastest selling title in the series.

A newcomer to the top sellers is Timberborn. Released on 15th September this Early Access indie city builder has players controlling industrious beavers after humankind goes extinct. Wood is the building material of choice for the beavers, which is where the name comes from here.

“Humans are long gone. Will your lumberpunk beavers do any better? A city-building game featuring ingenious animals, vertical architecture, river control, and deadly droughts. Contains high amounts of wood,” reads the description of the game.

NBA 2K22 continues to bring in vast amounts of money despite fans seemingly despising it at launch on 10th September. We also reviewed the game and found it mostly frustrating.

Finally the Valve Index VR Kit returns to the top selling list after being absent for a week. It’s likely that Tales of Arise appearing three times pushed it out of contention but it’s back this time around.
