At 90% off Battlefield V is the Steam top seller

Battlefield V is currently 90 percent off on Steam until 8th September, a massive discount which has lead the 2018 game to the top of the sales chart.

Said sales chart is the weekly recap provided by third party storefront tracking site Steam Database (Steam DB).

Steam DB reports that Battlefield V came in first place but it’s worth remembering that the top selling list, which you can read below, is according to revenue, not by number of sales.

This is rather staggering as it means that Battlefield V brought in the most money despite the insanely deep discount, beating out every single game on the platform.

  1. Battlefield V
  2. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
  3. Naraka: Bladepoint
  4. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
  5. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Deluxe + Bungie 30th Anniversary Bundle
  6. Valve Index VR Kit Package
  7. Aliens: Fireteam Elite
  8. Tales of Arise
  9. No Man’s Sky
  10. Phasmophobia

The Destiny 2 bundle was the top seller last week so it has slipped quit a bit but still manages to bring in a lot of money for Bungie with pre-orders.

Owlcat Games, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, should also be happy with its claims of both second and fourth places here. Because of the way Steam works different versions of the same game are listed separately on the database, which is why the same title can appear multiple times in the best selling list.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has three different editions – standard, Mythic and Righteous – which is why it has shown up twice in the top ten list.

No Man’s Sky makes an appearance here also thanks to a sale (albeit at 50 percent off) and the release of yet another free content injection called Frontiers.

The Index VR kit appears on the top ten list every single time making its appearance on this list, for the 35th week of 2021, no surprise.

Finally there’s Aliens: Fireteam Elite in seventh place, a game we just reviewed. We were left underwhelmed with the title but users on Steam seem to be having a better experience with it as there’s currently 6 796 reviews for the title on Valve’s store. 85 percent of these reviews are positive leaving the game with a “Very Positive” review rating.
