Dying Light 2 delayed into a busy February 2022

Today we’ve seen not one, but two games announce delays into next year. First it was Total War: Warhammer 3, and now Dying Light 2: Stay Human.

The much anticipated sequel to the original 2015, Stay Human has had a rough development so far with long stretches of radio silence from developer and publisher Techland.

When Dying Light 2 broke one of these stretches in March of this year it seemed things were on course for a release on 7th December 2021.

Now Techland has released a statement, visible in the embed below, which pushes the game to 4th February 2022. It’s a relatively short delay of only two months, but as mentioned the game has been long awaited even for the December date.

Said statement provides details about the delay and the status of the game right now, which is apparently completed and needs to be polished. Apparently certain outlets and content creators will be playing the game as soon as next month to report on it.

“I just wanted to say that thank you for understanding, as a Community Manager [I’m] proud to be here, I work at [Techland] for 3 years and [I’m] waiting for this game as much as you are, Soon enough we’ll be slaying those infected! You’re the best community I’ve ever worked with,” reads a reply on Twitter from the official Dying Light account.

As we continue to wait for the sequel we still recommend that people play the first game. 2015 may sound like a while ago but, having played it in the last few years, it really holds up.

It helps that original Dying Light continues to receive updates and content packs to keep things fresh. As recently as last month there was an event bringing low gravity and new weapons to the game.

That being said when Dying Light 2 does launch in February of 2022 it’s going to have some stiff competition. Sifu, Horizon Forbidden West, the Saints Row reboot and more are all planned for that month.
