Leaked Surface Pro 8 image shows device Microsoft will unveil this week

This week, Wednesday to be precise, Microsoft will be holding a Surface devices event to showcase its latest hardware in preparation for the launch of Windows 11 to the general public.

As is the case leading up to a big consumer tech event, details have emerged and in this case it is a leaked image of the Surface Pro 8. While Microsoft is yet to confirm whether a new Surface Pro will be present on Wednesday evening, this latest leak corroborates many earlier reports.

Along with the image, which shows that Microsoft have not been radical in terms of design changes, @Shadow_Leak shared some of the specifications for the Pro 8 too. To that end, it will reportedly be specced in up to an Intel 11th Gen processor, although precise model is unknown.

Added to this is a 13″ display with smaller bezels and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. There is also talk of replaceable SSDs, dual Thunderbolt ports and of course running Windows 11 as the native OS.

With Apple refreshing its tablet lineup with new iterations of iPad and iPad Pro in recent months, it makes sense that Microsoft will be doing the same for its tablet ecosystem at the aforementioned event.

The Pro 8 is not the only Surface device expected on Wednesday evening, with a Go 3, Book 4 and updated Pro X model all expected. Whether any of these will be shipping to SA in an official capacity remains to be seen.

Either way, we’ll be covering the announcements later this week, with the event kicking off at 17:00 local time.
