Valve’s own Counter-Strike operation was Steam’s best seller

Operation Riptide is the latest paid expansion / event for Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), and it’s also the number one top seller on Valve’s marketplace Steam.

The latest content update for CS:GO beats out Deathloop which had the number one title last week when it launched.

Operation Riptide also finishes ahead of New World which claimed both silver and bronze here. This is because of the way Steam has games listed where multiple versions or editions of a game are listed separately.

Providing the list below is once again the Steam Database (SteamDB), a third party tracking site which provides a weekly recap of the top performers on Steam by revenue for the past seven days.

  1.  CS:GO – Operation Riptide
  2. New World
  3. New World
  4. Naraka: Bladepoint
  5. FIFA 22
  6. Deathloop
  7. Timberborn
  8. Valve Index VR Kit Package
  9. Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator
  10. Gas Station Simulator

Other returning names here include Naraka: Bladepoint, Timberborn and the Valve Index VR package, all of which have been on the top selling list in previous weeks with Naraka: Bladepoint claiming first a few times in the past.

Newcomers here take the form of FIFA 22 and the two games with “simulator” in the title.

Sports games may be more popular on console but the latest FIFA has managed to land square in the middle here even though it only launches on 1st October. As we get closer to the actual release date of the title we wouldn’t be surprised to see it climb higher on the list.

Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator and Gas Station Simulator are two very different games. The former is an Early Access crafting game made to look like an ancient book, while the latter is a first person renovation game where players need to make money and micromanage a business in the middle of nowhere.

Overall, with the simulator games gaining moderate publicity online, this top selling list doesn’t have any real surprises. Timberborn is probably the biggest standout as an indie title where players control sentient beavers rebuilding the world in wood after mankind is gone. It’s nice to see it return this week after also popping up when it launched.
