Every savvy smartphone user should consider the new Huawei Nova 8i

There is a new smartphone on the market that every savvy South African should be aware of – the Huawei Nova 8i. This latest device from the company serves up several noteworthy elements while packaging it in a highly affordable package.

As such, for anyone wanting to make an upgrade to a powerful smartphone while also ensuring that their wallet remains burden-free during these chaotic times, should look no further than the Huawei Nova 8i.

This recently launched device is available at selected retailers across the country, along with Huawei’s dedicated local online store, with pricing listed at R6 999 and bundling a Bluetooth Speaker (valued at R699) for free for good measure.

So why should the Nova 8i be on your radar?

For one it delivers a superb visual experience, both on screen and on the rear. Focusing on the latter, you’ll find a circular camera array inspired by Huawei’s flagship Mate series, with a quartet of lenses present.

The primary option is a 64MP lens, which is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensing lenses. Add to this a 16MP front facing selfie camera, and the Huawei Nova 8i is expertly appointed when it comes to snapping great all-around pictures for social media or capturing video for content creation.

In terms of what’s up front, a large 6.67″ display is present, offering up ample screen real estate to enjoy videos and movies or browse the web. You’ll also notice a richly detailed resolution which delivers FullHD+ (2376×1080) visual content to enjoy.

To ensure things are ticking over quickly, Huawei has ensured the Nova 8i has an equally impressive set of internal specifications. To that end an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset is present, with a generous 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB storage on offer to provide a snappy performance while multitasking.

Added to this is a 4 300mAh battery to go a full day and then some, but when a quick charge is needed, 66W-powered functionality is available, which too is something normally found on a flagship phone twice the price of the Nova 8i.

Powered by the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and the Huawei AppGallery, the Nova 8i has the ecosystem and operating system necessary to bring all of the aforementioned technology to life.

You’d be hard pressed to find a better value for money offering on the local market than the Huawei Nova 8i at R6 999 (RRP). To find out how to get one of your own, in either Starry Black or Moonlight Silver, head here.
