Gunfire Reborn to get a price increase but remains a bargain

Ahead of its 1.0 launch and end of Early Access, Gunfire Reborn is getting a price bump, but it still remains a good value proposition for the amount of game you’re getting.

Overseas the game currently costs $11.99 and will be increased up to $19.99 on 18th October. In South Africa the regional pricing is R89 which is what you will pay right now. If we apply the same ~67 percent increase the localised pricing should fall at around the R150 mark if we’re rounding things.

This is still rather cheap for a new game especially when you consider what is on offer here. For the uninitiated Gunfire Reborn is an FPS roguelike that made a massive splash when it launched into Early Access in May 2020.

“Gunfire Reborn is an adventure level-based game featured with FPS, Roguelite and RPG. Players can control heros with various abilities to experience diverse Build gameplay, use randomly dropped weapons to explore random levels. This game can be played by single player, or Co-op up to four,” reads the description on Steam.

At the time of writing the game has 44 796 reviews which is a huge amount for an indie title. Maybe even more impressive is the fact that, of all those reviews, 94 percent of them are positive.

It seems that everyone who has taken part in the Early Access gameplay has nothing but good things to say about Gunfire Reborn with comments about the price increase on places like Reddit also praising the title and adding that the price increase is more than welcome given the amount of quality content on offer.

“We started the journey with two heroes and 34 weapons. Now, it’s time for us to reach the culmination of this wild ride with the 6th hero, the 48th weapon, and the all-new fourth stage on the horizon. We keep making our game better and spare no effort in delivering fresh content. At the same time, with escalating development costs, we plan to increase the game price to $19.99 from Oct. 18th 0:00 (GMT+8),” writes developer and publisher Duoyi Games.

We’re excited to give this one a try once 1.0 rolls around in the near future.
