Amazon’s MMO New World continues to sell extremely well as the game takes not only all three top spots in a list of top ten Steam performers, but also manages to take a fourth slot in fifth place.
The list of top ten games on Steam according to revenue is provided by Steam Database (SteamDB), an unofficial tracker of what goes on in Valve’s store.
“Games show up twice because of multiple purchase options. Steam puts them as duplicate appids, instead of listing separate packages,” reads a disclaimer about how the list is put together.
Given the size of Steam and all the games available one title eating up 40 percent of this list is impressive, but not unexpected.
New World managed to bring in hundreds of thousands of players last week and is edging towards a million concurrent players. Its peak concurrent player count in the last 24 hours was 913 634 according to the official Steam & game statistics page.

Operation Riptide, the latest for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, manages to take fourth here. CS:GO on its own is still edging out New World in terms of player counts but then again the base game is free.
Valve’s other baby, the Index VR headset, appears almost every single week on this list and continues that street near the bottom.
Despite complaints that FIFA 22 brings nothing new to the table the fandom around football remains strong and the latest iteration from EA snatches seventh and eighth place on this list.
The only real surprise on this list is an indie title called Melty Blood: Type Lumina which was released on 30th September.
“This is the latest addition to the series of 2D fighting games based on TYPE-MOON’s visual romance novel, Tsukihime. The curtain rises once more on dramatic battles played out with familiar characters from Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-,” reads the game description.
