Razer enters the PC component game with fans, coolers and PSUs

Long-time maker of PC and console accessories, Razer has made the leap into the world of PC components.

Announced at RazerCon, the firm has shown off all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooling solutions, power supplies and most importantly an RGB controller that could finally unite the shattered RGB lighting space.

We aren’t joking here, RGB lighting is much loved but if you happen to have fans, and lighting strips from different brands, unifying your RGB can be next to impossible. Razer says its Chroma Addressable RGB controller is universal and will work with an ARGB device which sounds great.

Other, perhaps more notable announcements include the Razer Hanbo. This AIO liquid cooler was developed with help from Asetek and is available in 240mm and 360mm radiator sizes. There is also of course customisable RGB lighting for the pump cap.

There is also the Razer Katana which is a Platinum rated ATX power supply sporting a zero RPM ARGB Razer Chroma fan if that’s something you’re into. The power supply will be offered in 750W and 1 200W variants. There is also a 1 600W Razer Katana power supply with a Titanium rating.

Finally, Razer also has its own range of PC fans it calls Razer Kunai. Available in 120mm and 140mm flavours, the fans are edge lit and are designed for “maximum airflow”.

“The products we launched today are just the beginning of the many top-of-the-line PC components that we will be bringing to market in the near future. ‘For Gamers. By Gamers’ is at the core of everything we do, and these new components deliver upon that promise with impeccable build quality for top notch desktop gaming performance,” said Razer co-founder and chief executive officer, Min-Liang Tan.

These products launch in the US this month with a worldwide rollout happening “later this year”.
