Samsung announces Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 for 20th October

Samsung has announced an event scheduled for next week that it is dubbing as Galaxy Unpacked Part 2.

It is the first time the South Korean firm has used such terminology, with the previous Galaxy Unpacked event focused primarily on the foldable devices that the company has been working.

As such, it remains to be seen if Part 2 will be as device focused as other Galaxy Unpacked events, with the teaser video embedded below offering up little in the form of hints for what is on the way.

Given that there are several app icons on display, perhaps Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 will be more focused on the software side of things for Samsung’s mobile business, which is an avenue that the company has been actively investing in.

“Our users are multifaceted and live life in so many colorful, interesting, and unique ways. As such, the technology they use every day should reflect their individuality,” reads a Samsung blog post regarding the event.

“Join Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 on October 20 to see how Samsung is opening up new experiences for self-expression through technology,” it adds.

We usually see a new Galaxy Note device around this time of year, but given the chip shortages plaguing companies across the world right now, not to mention the new foldables on the market, there may be refreshes of Samsung’s more affordable devices on the way.

Either way it will be interesting to see what Samsung has in store for this latest Galaxy Unpacked, with the firm seemingly having more events than most other Android phone manufacturers this year.

The event kicks off at 16:00 local time, with it being live streamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
