Valhalla title update prepares for Discovery Tour: Viking Age

Discovery Tour – the education-focused mode that is meant to be a guided museum tour without quests or combat – is coming for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on 19th October.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age has been talked about again in the 1.3.2 title update for Valhalla. This update will apparently “prepare the game” for the new content.

Details and the release date for Viking Tour were highlighted by publisher Ubisoft in September but title update 1.3.2 is the latest bit of news we’ve received about the new mode.

That September updates points out that the Discovery Tour will be available on PC as well as console and Google Stadia.

“Continuing in the footsteps of previous Discovery Tours, the new experience was designed with input from historians and archaeologists, and will transform the game’s world into a nonviolent, educational experience that players can freely explore to learn more about the places, people, and cultures of ninth-century England and Norway,” reads that September update.

For those who don’t care about Viking Age, the core game of Valhalla does not get much from the update aside from a long list of big fixes and addresses problems which are available in the patch notes here.

Those playing the game through Google Stadia can switch between graphic modes Image Quality or Performance. The former bumps up fidelity and and resolution while the latter focuses on 60FPS.

We actually did another playthrough of Valhalla recently and it’s still a lot of fun as we discussed in our launch review. The only real problem the game has after all this time is a massive time investment even if you keep the side quests to a minimum.

Title update 1.3.2 for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a varying size depending on the platform:

  • PC: 20.42 GB
  • PlayStation 4: 10.84 GB
  • PlayStation 5: 8.54 GB
  • Xbox One: 19.4 GB
  • Xbox Series X|S: 24.09 GB
