Mr Beast recreated Squid Game and it’s really rather good

Whether it’s Team Trees or Team Seas, you’ve likely encountered Jimmy “Mr Beast” Donaldson’s work on YouTube at some point over the last few years.

The YouTuber is well know for his philanthropic efforts but his latest stunt is pretty great.

The creator has recreated every game from this hit Netflix series Squid Game. In Donaldson’s game contestants compete for a prize of $456 000 although there were some smaller cash prizes along the way.

Of course, nobody was actually killed in the filming of this video although contestants were fitted with a device which would show they had been eliminated.

The sets mirrored Squid Game exactly although the final game was a game of musical chairs rather than the game the show’s name was taken from. The contestants did get a steak dinner as well which was a nice touch.

We highly recommend giving the video a watch below. Since releasing late on Wednesday night, the video has garnered over 20 million views and its just climbing.

Building the sets cost Donaldson a lot of money, over $3.5 million according to the creator. The video was sponsored by Brawl Stars and GoPro provided cameras to get some of the close ups.

We won’t spoil who won the game because you really need to watch the entire video.

Squid Game is by far and away Netflix’s biggest show of the year with subscribers having watched a combined 2.1 billion hours of the show since its launch. Season two of the hugely popular show is yet to be confirmed.
