Phase 1 ticket sales for Comic Con Africa 2022 now open, starting at R180

Over the weekend, organisers of Comic Con Africa 2022 opened up for the sale of tickets for the event’s return to an in-person event come September next year.

The past two iterations of Comic Con Africa have been virtual, but next year sees the event return to its best format, with attendees expected to descend upon the Johannesburg Expo Centre (NASREC) from 22nd to 25th September next year.

Following the aforementioned Black Friday Blowout sale, which is now sold out, phases one tickets are being made available from today onwards.

“As a result of this popular demand, Comic Con Africa has decided to officially open Phase 1 of ticket sales for the event, where between now and March 2022 fans can get their hands on a general access ticket for R180, and a 4-day weekend pass for R545,” explain organisers in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“With ticket prices set to increase leading up to the show, fans who seize the opportunity and book now during phase 1, will get them at lowered price compared to other phases,” it adds.

The portal to purchase tickets can be found here, with organisers also noting that those who already hold tickets purchased for the 2020 show, will automatically have their tickets rolled over for use at Comic Con Africa 2022.

“Seeing the overwhelming response from fans for Comic Con Africa 2022 has really demonstrated that they are ready for a live show again. We are thankful for the fans that have already shown their excitement, and encourage those who missed the sold-out Black Friday Blowout to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to take advantage of the phase one price,” adds Comic Con Africa Show director, Carla Massmann.

“We are so thrilled to see the events industry slowly igniting again. We have missed the fans so much and can’t wait to unite. We’re coming back, and we’re coming back BIG,” she concludes.

With there being a dearth in events for South Africans to enjoy of late, here’s hoping the pandemic would have settled down to a level where the next year’s Comic Con can happen without any issues.
