DevConf 2022 agenda filling up ahead of in-person event in April

Despite COVID-19 still hanging over our heads, society appears to be headed back toward a way of life we enjoyed before the pandemic.

Case in point, DevConf is scheduled to have an in-person event in 2022 in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. There will also be a virtual event.

Before we take a closer look at the agenda we want to commend those presenting on the various DevConf tracks as well as the organisers. Whether you attend the Johannesburg, Cape Town or Virtual events, you will be seeing the same speakers, and while their talks are likely to vary slightly, it’s great that all attendees will receive the same content.

As for the content, there will be over 30 speakers at DevConf 2022 covering a variety of topics including AI, working in a remote world and other interesting topics.

So far, confirmed speakers include:

  • Dan Wells – Co-founder at EskomSePush
  • Daniel Joubert – Software development manager at Netstar
  • Maia Grotepass – Android engineer at Luno
  • Hanli Geyser – Lecturer in Digital Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand
  • Veliswa Boya – Developer Advocate at AWS

There are many more speakers and the keynote speaker is yet to be announced.

The Cape Town leg of DevConf 2022 will take place on 5th April at the Lagoon Beach Hotel and Spa. The Johannesburg leg of the conference is happening on 7th April at The Canvas at the Riversands I-Hub. The virtual event will take place on 7th April as well.

Finally, tickets. Early bird tickets for Johannesburg event are sold out but you can still get these discounted tickets for the Cape Town and Virtual event. These Early Bird tickets cost R2 825.

Standard tickets will cost R3 142 and if you purchase 10 or more you will be eligible for a seven percent discount.

We also highly recommend you read the conference’s COVID-19 policy. We’re happy to see that if you happen to contract COVID-19 and can provide a doctor’s note, the organisers will convert your in-person ticket to a virtual ticket.

In the past DevConf has been one of our favourite conferences to attend and we’re excited to see that the event will be in-person again this year.

For more information on speakers or to purchase tickets, head to the official DevConf website.
