The University of South Africa (Unisa) is looking for interns which, and unlike some internships that don’t pay, this one does.

This is according to an “adverts for interns” that recently appeared on the Unisa announcements website. This links to PDFs which claim that successfully hired interns will received a stipend of R102 311 for the duration of the contract, which is 12 months.

That works out to around R8 525.92 per month.

There are two lots of internships that can be applied for, with the first closing its applications on 18th January.

These have the requirements that applicants must be under 35, have a completed Unisa qualification and no work experience at all.

11 positions are open in the Department of Quality Assurance and Enhancement (DIQAE) and the Academic Quality Assurance and Enhancement Unit (AQAE).

Full details for these positions can be found in this PDF.

The second lot of internships have their applications closing later on 27th January.

They share the same requirements as the previous positions with the exception that applicants may have up to six months of work experience while still qualifying.

Differences continue here with a broader range of departments which will be overseeing the interns. Legal services, College of Graduate Studies and Deputy Registrar: Governance
(Institutional Governance, Committee Services and Ethics Management) are the three departments.

Like the previous positions another PDF here contains the details.

There are some slight differences between the two batches of internships but the list of sundry requirements is shared:
