Oppo Reno7 5G launched in SA for R15k

The Oppo Reno7 5G has been launched in South Africa. The Chinese outfit held a local event to showcase its latest premium mid-range device this evening, with the new smartphone landing locally only a couple of months after taking its global bow.

The last notable offering in the Reno series, the Reno5 5G was launched locally around this time last year, and just like that device, Oppo is making the Reno7 5G available for the recommended retail price of R14 999.

So what is on offer for R15k?

The Reno7 5G features a number of elements that are comparable to some of the flagship Android phones on the market currently. To that end a 6.4″ FullHD AMOLED display (2400×1080) is present, along with a punch hole housing for the 32MP selfie camera up front.

Sticking with imaging, a 64MP wide-angle lens serves as the primary shooting option, with the rear array supported by a 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lenses.

Internally the support for 5G is delivering via an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, which is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. Added to this is a large 4 500mAh battery, that’s split between a 2 200mAh and 2 250mAh units, along with 65W fast charging functionality.

As it has done since officially launching the brand in SA a couple of years, Oppo is also talking up the full support of Android and the Play Store on the Reno7 5G.

The device goes on sale in South Africa on 1st April in Startrails Blue and Starry Black, with Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and Telkom listed as participating retail partners.

Selected bundles for the device will also add a pair of Enco Buds, a 65W SuperVOOC charger and Oppo Care, which includes one free screen repair in the first six months of purchase.
