Acer’s latest Swift 3 notebook adds an OLED display to the mix

Taiwanese firm Acer held its latest Next@Acer event earlier today where a number of new notebooks across its different portfolios were revealed.

To that end there are new Predator gaming notebooks and ConceptD creator notebooks that have been added to the mix, but we are a little more interested in the 2022 model of Swift 3.

This as the thin and lightweight series of notebook has now added an OLED panel to the mix. More specifically a WQXGA+ screen that features a 2.8K (2880×1800), up to 90Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness and a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio in a 16:10 orientation.

While the precise spec of new Swift 3 for South Africa is yet to be detailed, globally Acer has confirmed that up to a 12th Gen Intel Core H-Series processor is present, that is said to 1.6 times faster than its predecessor and features an instant wake of less than one second.

Added to this is up to a 1TB PCIe SSD, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and a battery that is said to deliver up to 10 hours of life, along with a quick charge mode that yields four hours of battery life from 30 minutes of charging.

In terms of the design, an aluminium chassis is found with the Swift 3 tripping the scales at 1.4kg and measuring 17.9mm thin.

As for pricing and availability, the local arrival date and price tag has not been confirmed yet, but in the US, pricing starts from around $900 (~14 350).
