Bungie won’t reveal the next Destiny 2 season until next week, kinda

There is an air of anticipation among Destiny 2 players as they await the next season of the year but Bungie is playing its cards close to its chest.

Much like the widely applauded Season of Arrivals, Bungie isn’t sharing anything with players about what the next season holds until 24th May.

“There will be a day where many of your questions will be answered, but today is not that day. It’s a scary, but fun, balancing act in the grand scheme of things. I’ve said it before, but player discovery is one of the most potent things in gaming. Do we spill the details in TWABs [This Week at Bungie] and tweets, or do we hold things a bit closer to the chest with each Season to let players dig in on day-one and find out some cool things in the game itself?” wrote senior community manager at Bungie, Dylan “A_dmg04” Gafner.

So no news until Tuesday? Not exactly.

In that same blog post, Gafner advised fans that the This Week at Bungie post they were reading should be the last thing they read if they want to go in completely blind.

The developer has a habit of using its Destiny The Game Twitter account to tease the story in Destiny 2. That Twitter account has been taken over by Empress Caital and Savathun and both instances landed well with players. This is just us speculating but it may be worth following that Twitter account this weekend.

There could also be lore that is released ala Season of the Hunt but once again, we’re just speculating.

Bungie also detailed exhaustive changes to how events work as well as a few balance changes players can expect next week.

On that, Vault space is being increased by 100 slots bringing the total up from 500 to 600. Bungie says that it is working to find ways to increase this number.

Perhaps more importantly however, Scorn sniper damage has been increased by 300 percent. Only kidding, the damage of these enemies has been brought in line with other combatants.

Finally, the next Dungeon in Destiny 2 will launch on 27th May which is next week Friday. There will be an Exotic weapon and catalyst to earn as well as weapons and armour. This Dungeon can be purchased separately for 2 000 Silver.

Thankfully, players don’t have to wait too long to see what the next installment in the Destiny 2 saga holds. We’re secretly hoping to see Calus again, but that’s just us.
