Dell debuts new Latitude notebooks and Precision workstations for 2023

  • Dell has announced updates to its enterprise-focused notebook lineup for 2023, including refreshed models of Latitude and Precision devices.
  • One of the new devices is the Latitude 9440, which Dell says is the world’s smallest 14″ commercial PC.
  • No local availability or pricing have been revealed, but they are expected in mid-to-late April.

Like many other PC makers, Dell is focusing on enabling hybrid work with its latest lineup of devices.

Looking at the enterprise space the company has revealed a refreshed portfolio of Latitude notebooks and Precision workstations which are designed to help their users work from anywhere, according to Dell.

At the time of writing, local availability and pricing are still in the offing, but there are some notable new devices in the lineup for 2023. One of them is the Latitude 9440 (pictured in the header), which Dell classes as the world’s smallest 14″ commercial PC.

“Inspired by the iconic design of our XPS line, but with a deliberate aesthetic for business users, the Latitude 9440 is clean, smooth and simplified. The machined aluminium and graphite colour offer a sleek and premium look. Even with this beautiful two-in-one design, we’ve prioritized performance. Conference calls can take a toll on your PC, but they are here to stay. We’ve updated our thermal design to rear venting dual-fan systems for a cool and quiet experience,” the company highlights.

Other firsts include a customisable haptic feedback touchpad, with Dell also opting for a similar QHD+ InfinityEdge display as found in the aforementioned XPS series. There are also three extra hours of battery life compared to the Concept Luna that the company debuted in 2021.

Joining the 9440 are the Latitude 7340 and Latitude 7440 Ultralight notebooks, with all new models capable of being specced in 13th Gen Intel Core processors.

“Now available in a 14-inch display size, they are the world’s smallest and lightest 14-inch and 13.3-inch premium commercial laptops. Weighing under one kilogram (13-inches) and slightly over one kilogram (14-inches), and made with magnesium throughout the full chassis, the devices are light yet extremely durable with a smooth and sleek touch,” Dell continues.

As for the Precision options, the 2023 refresh sees the 5860 leading the lineup. It features the smallest footprint in the world for a 16″ workstation, according to Dell, with up to an Intel Core i9 (45W) and 64GB of DDR5 memory on offer, as well as an Nvidia RTX 5000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU.

There’s also a 16:10, three-sided InfinityEdge UHD+ display, as well as a haptic trackpad, four grade-A audio speakers, and a FullHD IR camera with proximity and ambient light sensors.

As mentioned, local availability and pricing are yet to be shared. That said, the 7000 and 5000 series notebooks are expected Stateside later this month, with the 9440 set for the next few weeks thereafter. As for the Precision workstations, they land in the US from mid-to-late April.
