Which vehicles are real sets you can buy in LEGO 2K Drive?

The latest LEGO game has been revealed in the form of LEGO 2K Drive as the latest in the line of drivable brick-based vehicle racers. This reveal comes with a trailer but it has us asking: how many of these are real LEGO sets?

Before we delve into the answer, check out the trailer below to see what has been shown off so far:

With the trailer fresh in mind we can now see which of these cars and sundry vehicles are real sets on the shelves right now, and which are creations just for the game.

A feature shown off in the trailer and in a press release sent to us points out that car customisation will be a big part of the game, but we’ll be focusing on the “stock” options that come in the box.

Also, as we look at these LEGO sets, it’s worth keeping in mind which are available for sale and which are not. When a LEGO set is no longer in production it becomes “retired”. Retired sets are no longer produced but may still be available for purchase in stores with old stock or, of course, on the secondhand market.

We’ve provided the RRP of the sets in question but this only applies to non-retired sets.

If you saw a car, boat or other vehicle in the trailer which we don’t cover below, it’s likely because that is a custom creation for the game that hasn’t been turned into a physical toy yet. If we missed anything, however, let us know on Twitter.

60387: 4×4 Off-Roader Adventures

  • Piece count: 252
  • Price: £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 / R449
  • Retired? No

The very first car we see in the trailer for LEGO 2K Drive is seemingly a monster truck, but that’s not really what it is.

Instead it’s a massively lifted “4×4 Off-Roader” that was released earlier this year in the LEGO City theme.

As you can see above the set comes with this vehicle, as well as two minifigures, two bicycles, a tent, a rabbit and a small rock.

The 4X4 Off-Roader has space on the back for the two bicycles and space in the cabin for two people, though they need to sit one behind the other. The car also has a working suspension thanks to a pair of rubber bands that cause the wheels to pop back up after you press down on them.

60114: Race Boat

  • Piece count: 95
  • Price: £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99
  • Retired? Yes

From car to boat the first waterborne vehicle we see is a small green, white and black boat all the way from 2016.

There’s not much to say or see with this set as it has no functions and comes with a single minifigure.

The set does come with a pair of small beacons which can be used for play.

76918: McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM

  • Piece count: 581
  • Price: £39.99 / $34.99 / €44.99 / R699
  • Retired? No

Featured several times in the trailer and the marketing material for LEGO 2K Drive, these two McLarens actually come in one box so you need to buy both even if you only want one.

Aside from being pseudo-mascots for the game, these two are iconic cars, especially the F1 which is deeply beloved in the car community. Previously the fastest car in the world and still considered by some as the most beautiful car ever made, the F1 in orange is amazing both in the game and as a toy.

The Solus GT is a lesser-known track car, first appearing as a concept in another videogame – Gran Turismo Sport. The life of this car, from videogame concept, to real vehicle, then a LEGO toy and now that LEGO toy in a new game, is quite unique.

31127: 3-in-1 Street Racer

  • Piece count: 258
  • Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 / R349
  • Retired? No

An interesting inclusion here as the Street Racer is part of LEGO’s Creator 3-in-1 theme. As you may have guessed by the name, Creator 3-in-1 sells you one box that can be made into three different builds.

Of the three, only the main A model from this set is featured. In the trailer, the car looks like a lifted truck because it is shown flying through the air with the suspension fully extended. The real toy has the car sitting far lower to the ground and does not feature any working suspension.

31056: Green Cruiser

  • Piece count: 258
  • Price: £9.99 / $9.99 / €9.99
  • Retired? Yes

It’s a blink and you’ll miss it appearance in the trailer, but another Creator 3-in-1 car is featured in the trailer, shown in a race at around 1:37 into the video.

Aside from being another older set in the game (released in 2017), the Green Cruiser is also interesting as one of its three alternate models is another racing boat. Maybe we will see more of these 3-in-1 sets in the game, should they happen to have both a land and water option from the original toy.
