Local streaming platform Showmax has announced a partnership with financial institution Capitec Bank. The pair have partnered on a series of rewards and offers aimed at Capitec customers in particular.
To that end, any active Capitec Bank app (iOS and Android) users, which is estimated at 12 million people, are now able to buy Showmax streaming vouchers from R22 a month.
This is not the only offer being made, with Showmax and Capitec Bank confirming that a 50 percent discount is available across all of the streaming voucher options that the former makes accessible for purchase.
Here the recommended pricing drops to R22 for the Showmax Entertainment Mobile voucher, R49 for the fully fledged Entertainment voucher, and R34 for the Premier League Mobile voucher, with the streaming service noting that this equates to R1 a day for the lowest priced option.
Another offer being announced as part of this partnership is Capitec Bank customers being also to purchase 5GB of Connect Data to stream specifically at a price of R149.
“We’re kicking off this partnership with incredible pricing that we believe will make customers smile, giving South Africans access to the stories they love from across South Africa, the continent, the world and live football from the Premier League. Get ready for a streaming marathon,” enthused Marc Jury, CEO of Showmax.
“We’ve partnered with Showmax to disrupt the entertainment landscape and create value to our clients. Our clients will have access to entertainment from less than R1 a day, and this is only the start of a very exciting journey with much more disruption to come,” added Henk Lourens, group executive for Strategic Initiatives at Capitec.
