Magic Mike star heads to Johannesburg for Comic Con Africa

  • Hollywood star and Dungeons & Dragons nerd Joe Manganiello has been confirmed to be attending Comic Con Africa this year.
  • He will be attending from 27th to 29th September 2024 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.
  • The organisers have also confirmed other special attendees, including other local and international talent.

Comic Con Africa is shaping up to be a big event this year, as a host of international and local talents have lined up to attend and participate in the festivities. As part of the most recent announcement from the event’s organisers, Hollywood star and massive Dungeons & Dragons nerd Joe Manganiello has been confirmed to be attending from 27th to 29th September 2024.

Manganiello is known for starring in a number of major Hollywood productions, either live action or lending his voice, including “True Blood”, “Magic Mike”, “Magic Mike XXL”, “Spider-Man”, “Justice League” among others. He also featured in the live D&D game Critical Role, where his Dragonborn Arkhan the Cruel infamously stole the Hand of Vecna.

Instead of popping in on one day of Comic Con Africa, Manganiello is attending almost every day from Friday to Sunday, the organisers say. The actor is promoting his upcoming film “Nonnas” where he stars alongside Vince Vaughn and Susan Sarandon.

Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in autograph sessions and photo ops with Manganiello throughout the event.

“In addition to autographs and photo ops, Joe Manganiello will be participating in Q&A sessions, giving fans insight into his exciting career and sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his various film and television projects. These interactive sessions will allow attendees to directly ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of his work and experiences in the entertainment industry,” Comic Con Africa says in an email sent to Hypertext.

“Joe Manganiello’s presence at Comic Con Africa 2024 is sure to be a highlight, adding a significant draw for fans eager to connect with their favourite star. His participation enhances the convention’s already diverse line-up of celebrity guests, panels, and activities. Stay tuned for further updates and schedules on the Comic Con Africa official website and social media channels.”
