SUSE Summit 2024: Don’t miss Africa’s premiere open source event on 10th September

As a world leader in open source solutions and enterprise problem solving, SUSE is proud to once again open its doors to share knowledge, network and learn at the annual SUSE Summit 2024.

This iteration of the event is just around the corner with a 10th September 2024 date at one of Johannesburg’s premiere spaces, The Forum.

With this year’s focus on innovation through open source, SUSE is looking to enlighten attendees on the continued success of platforms such as Edge, Enterprise Container Management and Business Critical Linux. Here attendees will hear and participate in customer success stories that have seen key objectives already accomplished with SUSE.

SUSE experts and thought leaders will look into the future at how SUSE will continue these successes along with the cutting edge advancements that will achieve them.

“We are thrilled to host SUSE Summit 2024 in South Africa, bringing together a diverse community of innovators and leaders to explore the limitless possibilities of open source. This event underscores our commitment to driving innovation through open source collaboration and supporting our customers’ journey towards digital transformation,” says Ismail Ibrahim, CEMEA Sales Director at SUSE.

How

Make sure to register ASAP as demand is high but seats are limited. Existing SUSE partners will no doubt want to attend to stay up to date with the latest from the company, and those who haven’t partnered up just yet should also come to see what’s on offer in person.

Taking a peak at the agenda and there is a lot packed into the single day of SUSE Summit 2024. There’s something for everyone in the agenda no matter their position in their company or expertise. What really caught our eyes is the breakout sessions with Dawid van der Merwe, Solutions Architect at SUSE. The session – “Enabling AI from your data center to Edge” – is particularly important as Artificial Intelligence steadily becomes a cornerstone of not just business, but also daily life.

Despite the backed schedule there is plenty of time to relax and socialise with breakfast, lunch and a networking break. Right at the end of the day will see guests treated to a networking event with cocktails and entertainment.

The various security-focused sessions also caught our eye as system breaches, hacks and leaking of confidential data continue to become more prevalent. On that front the “Container Security” session with Clifford Weinmann at Azul Consulting and the “Confidential Computing Demonstration” by Grant Schultz, Solutions Architect at SUSE are both important.
