- Acer has revealed its latest gaming tower – the Predator Orion 7000 Desktop.
- The new product features a combination of Intel next-gen processors and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU.
- Like many of the devices unveiled at Next@Acer, local availability is yet to be confirmed.
Earlier today, and two days before IFA 2024 gets cracking, the Next@Acer press conference was held in Berlin. As expected, the Taiwanese outfit unveiled new gaming hardware as part of its Predator range of products, with the Orion 7000 Desktop being the flagship offering.
Dubbed a “gaming monster” by Acer, it features a combination of Intel next-gen processors and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, which clocks in at 1 321 AI TOPS. It also features the patented Predator CycloneX 360 system fan and a CPU liquid cooler to keep the device cool.
“This robust rig offers up to a state-of-the-art NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU with AI-powered DLSS that multiplies performance in spectacular virtual scenes. And with three months of PC Game Pass included, players will enjoy hundreds of high-quality PC games,” highlighted Acer in a release shared with Hypertext.
“The patented Predator CycloneX 360 utilizes an advanced 3-in-1 fan setup and a uniquely engineered flow channel to effectively expel heat from critical zones with maximized airflow volume and static pressure. In conjunction with a 360 mm CPU liquid cooling system, this pairing creates an optimal cooling environment and boosts the desktop’s cooling efficiency by 15% while lowering motherboard temperatures by 9 degrees Celsius compared to the previous model,” it added.
Other notable features of the Orion 7000 Desktop include the integrated PredatorSense 4.0 utility app, which lets players quickly overclock components and customise the ARGB/RGB lighting preferences.
Added to this is connectivity delivered by Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 7, delivering speeds of between 40 to 46Gbps. As for storage options, up to a 4TB HDD, 6TB PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD, and an SSD swap slot for expansion will be present on this rig.
Like many of the devices showcased today during Next@Acer, it remains to be seen when or indeed if the Orion 7000 Desktop will land in SA. While we wait for more information from Acer’s local representatives, run through the specifications of the new offering below.
