A probe into the awarding of the etolls collection tender to ETC is yet to be concluded after being launched four years ago by the Public Protector.
An exemption from paying etolls fees for Class A2 vehicles is meaningless because of the tedious application process, Outa has said.

Sanral has issued letters of demand and over 1 000 summons over unpaid etolls bills, according to Outa.
The amount paid back to Sanral over the course of one year only amounts to under 2%, according to Outa.
