After helping 300 000 South Africans get access to digital skills, Microsoft SA is extending its initiative, targeting a further 50 000.
The Women Techsters initiative will launch in five countries across Africa, with a view to train five million women in digital skills by 2030.
Announced in August during Women’s month, Microsoft SA’s [email protected] hackathon announced its winner earlier this week.
The grant forms part of Microsoft’s global initiative to develop more digital skills, with 83 000 South Africans benefitting from the initiative already.
The [email protected] hackathon kicks off today, with the winning solution getting the support of Microsoft SA for a fully fledged rollout.
Following its global skills initiative announcement at the end of June, Microsoft SA has unpacked what will be happening locally to deliver on the objectives.
Both organisations are working to address digital education in South Africa during COVID-19, with plans to expand thereafter.
